Review Reply API

The Review Reply API allows companies to automate their review replies at scale by sending the HTR app the email address of a reviewer along with a reply to their review.

1. Common Use Cases

The most common use case is to generate replies to new reviews automatically using AI tools without needing to reply to each review via the HTR dashboard:

  1. Send data for new and updated reviews into a Google Sheet via Review Sync API

  2. Use a gen AI tool like ChatGPT to read new rows of the sheet and generate a reply with your instructions for tone, context, etc

  3. Send the reply back into HTR automatically by matching the email of the reviewer

2. How it Works

  • Reach out to HTR to request the data licensing agreement that your company will need to sign prior to API access being enabled

  • Go to the HTR Zapier private app page and authorize your account

  • Click 'create zap' and search for 'Hotel Tech Report' as the trigger app

  • Authorize Zapier to connect to your HTR account

  • Select the 'Send Review Response' trigger event

    • Select the reviewer's email and the AI response from the trigger step

Note: Make sure you're on an eligible plan or purchase API access or you will not be able to enable this feature on your account

PRO TIP: Combine the Review Update Trigger and the Send Review Response to connect to Zapier Agents to create an agent (aka virtual AI worker) that will:

  • Monitor for new or updated reviews and sync them to your desired tools

  • Automatically generate review replies based on your instructions

  • Send the AI generated replies back into HTR
